For
hundreds of years the Lake District has been the inspiration for some
of the most romantic literature of our times. Poets such as Wordsworth,
Byron and Keats were so captivated by the rugged beauty, which surrounded
them that they created some of their most prominent work here. Artists,
such as Ruskin, have also found the Lakes inspirational, capturing on
canvas the very essence of the untameable countryside.
Grasmere
is encircled by mountains and nestles on the shores of Grasmere Lake.
It is a picturesque area full of history, it is a place to wonder in and
reflect. Stonegarth sits on the outskirts of the village, peaceful and
secluded but with easy flat access to the village centre.
